SPECIAL SUMMER WORKSHOP: Atelier "SKIDIZ"

Speaking French is not only the proper language and the correct vocabulary and grammar, it is also the familiar language, the argot, the popular expressions that everyday people use.

Have You ever Heard: avoir la trouille, un mioche, le grabuge, un roupillon, il papote, ça ne tourne pas rond, le faire marcher, casser les pieds...? Well, these will be the type of words and expressions that we will get more familiar with and a way to introduce ourselves to a different French language that has its origins all the way back to the Middle Ages and the diverse backgrounds of the French speakers!

We will dive into that colorful language that the francophones use commonly!

Workshop outline:

  • DAY 1
    • Le dialogue et la Conversation en français (basics, pronunciation)
    • Parler et convaincre ( everyday life, culture, education, social life, problems and mysteries..)
    • Façons de parler ( money, words, time and movement, sadness and emotions, attitudes, errors, trust, “comme..”)
  • DAY 2
    • “SKIDIZ” ( familiar language: “ce qui disent= SKIDIZ” ; many themes : school, money, clothes, housing, food and drinks, sleeping, the body, activities, friendship and love…)
    • “MERDE !” (familiar language, colloquial, argot, rudeness… - The Musts, the variations, work and social status; positive thinking, foreign invasions of the language)
    • “FINAL EXAM??”
