AFN Policies

Our guiding principles and set of rules to guide how we achieve our organization's objectives.

Unauthorized Recording of Class Sessions

effective 1/1/2026.

Purpose: The Alliance Française de Nashville (AFN) is committed to protect the integrity of what transpires in the classroom among students and professors, any course materials prepared by the professor, and the privacy of students and faculty.

Policy: Beginning January 1, 2026, to protect privacy and create a safe learning environment for all participants, recording of any kind (audio, video, or screenshots) is strictly prohibited during our classes. This policy applies to all students and instructors, and covers all class sessions, breakout rooms, and any other course-related meetings.

  • Disability Accommodations: Students who require the use of recording devices as a reasonable accommodation for a disability must obtain prior authorization through the Education Committee by contacting education@afnashville.org and notify the instructor in advance.
  • Violations: Failure to comply with this policy constitutes a violation of the AFN policies and may lead to the inability to participate in AFN events or meetings, be removed from AFN events or meetings, and not be entitled to a refund of any fees paid.
