The Consulate General of France fulfills Chancellery functions (visas, passports and all administrative formalities), Cultural Services (educational, university and artistic partnerships and cooperation), and a Press Department (maintaining close relations with the local media). The jurisdiction of the Consulate General of France in Atlanta covers 6 states : Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. The Atlanta location is distinct in that it combines, within the same structure, the functions of a Consulate and a Trade Commission.
