Deauville Teaching Internship.  Teach English to French students and submerge yourself in French culture while living in the coastal town of Deauville, the Hollywood of France.  The application deadline was Friday, January 27, 2012.  Please click here to view more information.

Nina Walls Scholarship.  This scholarship, which is made possible by the Alliance Française Cultural & Educational Fund, Inc. enables recipients to attend a month-long summer study session at the Alliance Française de Lyon, in Lyon, France, and to live with a French family there.  The application deadline was February 22, 2012.  Please click here to view more information.

Carlos Sanz
 
Sanz was born in Tangier when it was an international city. He completed his studies in Morocco and Spain. In 1955, he joined the International Court of Tangier where he was active in the criminal and juvenile Courts. In 1960, after Morocco gained its independence, he moved to New York. He joined the United Nations and worked for the Government of the Congo. In 1970 he moved to the private sector working in various international trade activities until 1992 when he moved to Nashville, TN where he spends his time writing, sculpting in stone (a lifelong hobby) and volunteering. While in Morocco, he was the finalist of the Spanish prestigious poetry award "Gracian" and published several short stories in the Spanish literary magazine "Insula". He is the author of over one hundred short stories, and in 2005 he published "Memories of the Spanish Civil war."

Your name must appear on the current membership list.  The guard will direct you to the clubhouse at 150 Valley Forge.  Adult guests only.  Please bring your favorite dish and wine to share.  Please come early to help our hosts and volunteers with the set-up or stay a few minutes to help them to tidy up afterwards.
