Throughout the evening, live artists will perform an eclectic mix of French art songs, operetta, and musical theater celebrating Nashville Opera’s upcoming production of Andrea Chénier, based on the actual French poet André Chénier and his dangerous ideas.

State Senator Douglas Henry (shown above on the left) was honored at a reception April 8, 2010, hosted by Sister Cities of Nashville, the Alliance Française, and Vanderbilt University's Department of French and Italian. Newly installed Consul General of France in Atlanta, Pascal Le Deunff (right), joined us in honoring Senator Henry for his support of and contribution to international relations and foreign language learning in Middle Tennessee. Click here to see more pictures, generously provided by Sister Cities of Nashville.

Deauville Teaching Internship.  Teach English to French students and submerge yourself in French culture while living in the coastal town of Deauville, the Hollywood of France.  The application deadline was February 3, 2010.  Please click here to view more information.

Nina Walls Scholarship.  This scholarship, which is made possible by the Alliance Française Cultural & Educational Fund, Inc. enables recipients to attend a month-long summer study session at the Alliance Française de Lyon, in Lyon, France, and to live with a French family there.  The application deadline was February 20, 2010.  Please click here to view more information.
